In addition to the infamous East Bay we all know and love, there is also the North Bay’s Santa Rosa area for a nice hotbed of hardcore music. House shows up there tend to have some of the wildest pits. Crust, Punk, Metal, Thrash, Grind, they got plenty of it. If it was just a little bit closer to home, I would be at tons of shows up there on a regular basis.

Intangled is one of those thrash metal bands from Santa Rosa I was lucky enough to catch at the North bay Film/Art Collective.  Boy these guys kinda remind me of the first time I saw Def Leppard. It was 1980, back at The Warfield in San Francisco, and we were actually more excited about the opening act Def Leppard than we were about the headliner (who i think was Pat Travers; Lolz I don’t even remember for sure anymore). The ladies working at the T-shirt stand were DROOLING over these hot 14/15 year old boys on the stage (that’s how old Def Leppard was back then). Ummm, I don’t think I can publish what the T-shirt ladies were talking about, at least not without getting into a heap of trouble 

Intangled has that same energy level although their style is a little more of what was common in the late 80’s, at least by my ear. What’s left of it anyways (my ear that is; I use earplugs nowadays to save what’s left of my hearing, should have been doing that decades ago).

And that Mohawk the drummer has — Yeesh!  Looks like the Statue of Liberty kinda sideways.
