Dan Spiteri is the owner and main shenanigan distributor of Bay Area Metal Scene. When he's not blasting his hearing into oblivion, you can find him doing "outdoorsy" stuff like skiing, bike riding and drinking cheap beer.

  1. This was a SICK show! There where 2 local opening bands, and instead of Braindrill, Reciprocal played. I have no clue what happened to Gigan. All the bands where really technical. The first band sounded a lot like Braindrill, but I enjoyed their vocalist. He tried his best even thought they the opener. You gotta respect that.Next came a Deathcore band. They where pretty technical, and early in the show they had a pit. Later however they started to use the breakdown as a crutch and the show died down a bit.Next came Embryonic Devourment, they used samples in the beginning of their set, but they where way too technical. They could not keep my attention through their set, but in the end they got a small pit.Next came Reciprocal, man these guys SHRED. They had the old bassist for Braindrill and for some reason decided to throw Braindrill shirts into the crowd. The pit started to get sick. The vocalist was pretty amazing and had good stage presence. Then Origin, oh man, I unfortunately missed these guys because I had to leave early, but I’m pretty sure they put on a good show.

If anyone is curious, I was the kid in the Slayer shirt.
