Props to All Shall Perish and Decrepit Birth for getting on this tour. I mean – Look at that line-up! I’m not sure why some folks have complained about the bands on this bill – most of these bands are friggin’ amazing! I mean, they’re mostly all super technical death metal with some deathcore thrown-in, but what do you expect from a tour called Summer Slaughter?
If my memory serves me correctly, last year this tour came through the Grand Ballroom in San Francisco. I didn’t go, but I can confidently say that paying Ticketmaster, having all your shit taken away at the door and paying too much for booze puts you in the right mood to kick some serious ass in the pit.
In the meantime, we’ll keep you posted on when the tour dates come out.

The Faceless, Dying Fetus, Beneath the Massacre, Suffokate and Enfold Darkness played at the DNA Lounge last night in what amounted to a weird amalgamation of Death Core, Death Metal and Progressive Metal. Despite all the venue’s seemingly amateur approach to sound (like playing house music while a band is performing) and light (leaving the lights off during the band’s performance), each band managed to pull-off a pretty solid-sounding set. The Faceless closed out the night, which would’ve been damn near impossible for most bands because Dying Fetus absolutely crushed. The show went on for quite a while, especially for a Sunday night and didn’t end until almost midnight. We probably could’ve done without one of the opening bands, but whatever. Enjoy the bootlegs and shit!

Suffokate
Beneath the Massacre
