Local metal blogger umlaut posted a rather interesting letter this weekend. The letter details the early days of Megadeth, right around the time Dave Mustaine was putting together the band. Slayer is Out of Mega/Slay/Test. Metal is Showing its Age.
Tom Araya of Slayer has to get some back surgery done this month, consequently ending post-poning the American Carnage tour run. It just donned on me that metal is really starting to show its age. It’s only a matter of time before we start hearing about hip-replacement surgeries and the crazy “oat bran lifestyle” of aging metal musicians. A lot of dudes are in their 50’s and 60’s already.
