Epic Tales: Megadeth, Testament and Exodus in Hollywood (video, pics)
As much as I love hitting the open road on a beautiful California spring Wednesday morning on a trip to Hollywood, I equally hate the drive back the next day, or at night when I’m haggard and barely functioning from the night before. There are many forces at work against one, that is, should one decide to make a road trip – the main obstacle of course, being money. Nevertheless, Megadeth, Testament and Exodus skipping … Read entire article »

BAMS Interviews Chris Broderick of Megadeth
Photos from Megadeth myspace page (no credits listed). It’s been about 5 years since I first met Megadeth guitar player Chris Broderick. Newly transplanted to Los Angeles from Colorado, he was just a man with his guitar and a hope in his pocket, educating whoever he could in the art of shred. Well, at least teaching aspiring guitar players like myself whatever we could absorb. At the time, Broderick was tearing it up in the legendary power … Read entire article »

David Ellefson Back in Megadeth – New Band Photos Up
Alright, it might be a time for a road trip down to L.A. In case you haven’t heard, James Lomenzo isn’t in Megadeth anymore. It was an uncharacteristically quiet farewell, especially considering all the drama surrounding the two Daves over the years and Megadeth, but I’m sure that fans will be stoked to see the long-time bassist back in the mix for the upcoming Rust In Peace tour. From the Megadeth website: More photos after the jump. … Read entire article »

Megatestodus skipping the Bay!?!
I’m sure you’ve heard of the “Rust in Peace” tour by now – but just in case you haven’t – it’s Megadeth, Testament and Exodus. Awesome, right!? Wrong. The only show in California is in Los Angeles. It seems like there’s a new story every day, in some form or another, about how awesome these concerts are going to be. Which is why it’s so frustrating when shows are cancelled, postponed, or not anywhere near … Read entire article »

20th Anniversary of the Clash of the Titans Tour. You cannot kill the Metal!
For those of us that never got to experience one of the greatest metal tours in the history of the world, imagine Megadeth, Slayer, Anthrax, Testament, Suicidal Tendencies, Death Angel and Alice in Chains all in one tour. Quite a line-up, eh? Guitar World recently got Dave Mustaine, Kerry King, Scott Ian, Eric Peterson, Rick Ernst and Rob Cavestany together for their February 2010 issue to talk about the legendary Clash of the Titans tour, which … Read entire article »

Kerry King Was Almost In Megadeth?
Local metal blogger umlaut posted a rather interesting letter this weekend. The letter details the early days of Megadeth, right around the time Dave Mustaine was putting together the band. As you’ll read in the letter, Slayer’s very own axe-man Kerry King was a top consideration for the spot as lead guitar player. Maybe some of you already knew this, but I had no clue. Can you imagine!? … Read entire article »

Slayer is Out of Mega/Slay/Test. Metal is Showing its Age.
Tom Araya of Slayer has to get some back surgery done this month, consequently ending post-poning the American Carnage tour run. It just donned on me that metal is really starting to show its age. It’s only a matter of time before we start hearing about hip-replacement surgeries and the crazy “oat bran lifestyle” of aging metal musicians. A lot of dudes are in their 50’s and 60’s already. That’s right – 50’s and 60’s! … Read entire article »
