Wow, Bolt Thrower are way more popular than I thought they were. I mean, that song The Killchain is pretty awesome, but those guys with Testament and Behemoth seems kind of odd.
59 Euros for tickets and camping. What is that – like three thousand dollars or something? I’m just assuming…

Good lord was it hot last night! People were passing out left and right! I haven’t seen Slim’s that packed – ever.
Behemoth pretty much tore the roof off of the place. I think they could’ve played every song they knew and everyone would’ve been okay with that. They had a good mix of old and new, although I didn’t really notice any material from The Apostasy. Septic Flesh were alright, they had some good stuff but I could’ve done without some of the “cheese” factor. I didn’t catch too much of Lightning Swords of Death, but their bassist had a Cliff Burton-esque bass solo to close the show out.
I was able to catch a few videos of Behemoth and Septic Flesh in between the mayhem. Enjoy.

Well, it’s the New Year and that means it’s time to start making resolutions. Mine just happens to be to listen to more metal, which is going to be challenging since I already listen to metal about 10 hours a day already, but hey – there’s always room for improvement in one’s life.
Keeping with the tradition, we’ve got a shiny new ticket for the person that wants to see Behemoth, Septic Flesh and Lightning Swords of Death at Slim’s on January 17th. All you have to do is email danspiteri [at] bayareametalscene [dot] com and say what your New Year’s resolution is (include your name as well). One lucky winner will be chosen at random. Good luck!
Congratulations to Bay Area Metal Head, Ben Wallace, who’s New Year’s Resolution was to tear it up in the pit more! You’ve got a ticket to see Behemoth!
