Poll: What Do You Want to See Happen to “Death-Core” in 2010?

2009 was indeed a popular year for “Death-Core”. Bands like Suicide Silence, Arsonists Get All the Girls and Winds of Plague all had new albums and a relatively big following (although I don’t know anyone that does – outside of the interwebs, that is).

So, what we want to know is…

What would you like to see happen to the whole "Death-Core" genre in 2010?

If you don’t really know what “Death-Core” means, this video should help clarify things a bit:

Dan Spiteri is the owner and main shenanigan distributor of Bay Area Metal Scene. When he's not blasting his hearing into oblivion, you can find him doing "outdoorsy" stuff like skiing, bike riding and drinking cheap beer.

I voted ‘Don’t Care’, but I’d like to see the oft-imitated, never-perfected (or even made good, for that matter) stuff go way while some of the bands that I do enjoy who are labeled deathcore get better and more popular. But yeah, the majority of ‘deathcore’ I don’t really or really don’t like.

I’m certainly not a deathcore fan, but I’m with Jacob on this one. Deathcore’s one of those genres that somehow out of the blue, became popular. Now there’s a ridiculous influx of deathcore bands that put break downs, blast beats, and pig squealing in every single song, without a shred of anything remotely resembling song structure/good songwriting. That said, there are a few “deathcore” bands that I do enjoy. Mostly though, I’d like to see the genre disappear.
