Black Gives Way to Bootlegs: Alice In Chains at The Fox Theater in Oakland
All the rockers in Northern California came out to see Alice in Chains rock the Fox Theater in Oakland last night, and I mean ALL the rockers. The place was so packed most people could barely move. Luckily, we’re not most people, and we shoved (politely, of course) our asses into the pit real fast! There were young (waved to a little 5 year-old walking by) and old (the average age had to be 40+) all enjoying what is probably the only 10/10 show I’ll see this year. Everything about this show was great: the venue, the crowd, the set-list, the sound, you name it.

Moved into the pit and passed several fist-fights for Check My Brain. Seriously – the mosh etiquette last night was being intently violated. If you knock someone on their ass, help them back up – don’t fucking kick them while they’re down! Also, you’re going to get pushed if you’re up front – especially if you’re a fat, sweaty slob. So stop acting like you’re being violated. Jesus people, was it your first time at a concert or have you just forgotten?!
Excellent job, Duvall. I think Layne would be proud.

Excellent show indeed. It was a pleasure to be there with you Dan! Band sounded great, the drinks were stiff, the crowd was awesome. Even getting completely knocked on my ass in the pit only got me MORE pumped for Alice. Only complaint was that Duvall has to stop hitting the tanning bed before each show – man, that guy is DARK. He totally looks like Lenny Kravitz.

I was at this show with with the greatest JERRY’S ANGELS and WE ROCKED THE RAIL!! They flew all the way from UK for the Fox and Palladium shows I completely agree with you this show was an absolute 10/10! Will did an excellent job and Jerry….well Jerry’s just Jerry, he fucking rocks anyfucking way!
After this show, our AIC posse drove down to LA for the PALLADIUM show which was as BADASS as the Fox show if not better! And for that show, I was right in the middle of the MOSHPIT! I just had a huge flashback right back to 1991! It kicked ass and I felt simply ALIVE!
After the Palladium show, I and the rest of the ANGELS waited for the band outside of the venue and we were able to meet all four members and thank them for such a great show! All and all, I am still experiencing withdrawal symptoms from one of the most memorable a few days of my life between 2/11 – 2/13!!
