I am a fan of heavy music whether it’s old school thrash, death metal, crossover, or hardcore.

It’s easy to slam on Hatebreed because they are popular, but you are missing out on some killer riffs. Listen to their first full length (Satisfaction…), and you’ll hear a hardcore band steeped in love for old Sepultura and Slayer.

Metallica is from L.A. read your history before you say they are from the bay area. Autopsy, Exodus, Death Angel, Testament are bands that came from the bay area and attracted bands from L.A. to leave and move north. East coast and L.A. are areas for mainstream acts and that’s cool, bay area fans happen to like underground acts and is known for having some of the best pits(circle pits in particular) in the U.S.. The bay area has a rich underground history, which anyone who has been interested in metal/heavy music as a whole should know.
