Metallica Fans Still Don’t Know Who Gojira Are.
Metallica kicked-off their European tour this week in Norway with Fear Factory and Gojira (Volbeat and High on Fire take the last half). There are a few videos on YouTube of the occasion, but this one was surprising because it seemed like no one in the audience knew who Gojira was. Now, I haven’t been to a Metallica show in like 10 years, so maybe I’m just out of the loop – but are the fans this apparently bored at all of their shows? Maybe someone should’ve told the audience that this song is called The Heaviest Matter Of the Universe. I.E. “cue the circle pit”.
So, Metallica fans, it’s time for you to listen to some Gojira. Even Metallica like Gojira. I can attest to this – the last time Gojira rolled through San Francisco, Rob Trujillo snuck by me at Slim’s and went backstage to watch them perform and, undoubtedly, to teach them how to crab-walk. Needless to say, you’re missing out if you haven’t heard by now!
