Listen to This New Early Graves Track, “Goner”

If there’s a band that can successfully combine punk, metal and death metal, then it has to be San Francisco’s Early Graves. Albeit there is definitely more metal than punk, I appreciate the rawness and speed that these guys put together. I was glad to finally see them a few weeks ago with Light This City, although I could totally see them touring with a lot of the East Coast hardcore bands that make their way out west.

Their new album “Goner” comes out June 22nd on Ironclad / Metal Blade records. Here’s the title track, “Goner”:

If the embedded player above doesn’t work, here’s a link to their myspace page.

Dan Spiteri is the owner and main shenanigan distributor of Bay Area Metal Scene. When he's not blasting his hearing into oblivion, you can find him doing "outdoorsy" stuff like skiing, bike riding and drinking cheap beer.

Great band… if you’re looking for music to make you angry, this is it. :)

I’m pretty disappointed in the production, though… noticeably worse than the previous album. Drums are just a wash of cymbals and noise on this. Hopefully that’s not the final master.

Ha, yeah. It makes me so angry that I get happy because I’m so angry.

I see what you mean about the production, I kind of like the rawness though. Of course, listening to it through the myspace player is never as good as a CD.
