2010 Jimi Hendrix Experience – Yawn
For those of you that can’t get enough Jimi Hendrix, here’s your show. I have to admit, the whole thing seems kind of cliche. I mean, how many damn bands cover Jimi Hendrix?

I’m going to take a stab at how this show goes:
Musician takes the stage, plays a Hendrix cover. Musician doesn’t play the song “note for note”, but rather plays the song according to their own “interpretation”. After a song or two, proceeds to talk about how Jimi Hendrix influenced their guitar playing and love for music. Proceeds to play another Hendrix song. Encore with several other guitar players playing extended wanking solos. No guitars are lit on fire.
Honestly, the only people I care to watch playing Jimi Hendrix tunes are Steve Ray Vaughn and Yngwie Malmsteen (SRV is dead and I assume Yngwie probably wanted too much money) .Why? Because all those other guitar players are friggin’ boring as hell. Here, I just saved you $80 with these videos:

I think this will be a great tour actually…I’m going to fly out to a couple dates…but then again I’m a devoted Hendrix fanatic!
I wouldn’t mind watching Johnson/Shepard play some tunes, but I’m not going to pay any cash to watch it. Hendrix covers are so overdone; I can’t count how many times I go by shitty bars for a drink, and end up seeing some guy wank to his own cover of little wing.
