“Who on God’s green Earth are CRACKDUST?” you ask? They’re only the heaviest death metal band to come out of Botswana, Africa. That’s right, I said a death metal band from Botswana, Africa.

They even have a myspace page. So throw away whatever pre-conceived notions you have about Africans and music, because CRACKDUST are bringing the noise and people are listening…I think.

Why name the band CRACKDUST? WHY NOT!? It’s fucking awesome! These guys actually can throw down some groove. Their sound is straight-up Cannibal-Corpse style death metal, with some European melodies and progressions thrown in the mix for good measure.

I mean, one look and you know these guys mean business:

I can’t believe crackdust.com hasn’t been taken.

So why is a Bay Area metal website talking about a band playing shows in Africa? Because somebody has to, and that somebody is us. Besides, someday you and a family member or significant other may venture to the land of human origin, perhaps on Safari, and find yourself in need of a good metal fix. Well, you’ll have us to thank.
